Periplaneta americana(美洲大蠊)

This large cockroach, which jumped out of nowhere while I was researching in a university office, really freaked me out. As the large relative of the small German Cockroach I encountered last time, this notorious tiny monster is feared all over the world for its super surviving techniches, its filth and diseases, and its disgusting look. Now cockroaches are disgusting and dirty, but I want to make a declaration for the other members of the cockroach family, or the Blattaria family. Actually, many wild cockroaches, unlike the urban species, do not eat waste or food scrapts, but purely eat dirt, and are exremely sensitive to envinronmental changes, making them hard to find and sanitary. These cockroaches do no harm to humans, and are actually used in many medicines and tradidtional South Asian cuisines. I might be carried a way a bit, but what I want to say is that you don’t have to hate all roaches just because of this bad boy. (and this cockroach is actually a male, as you can see there are reproducttive glands on the sides of the abdomen, so this is not only a slang)
